A WOMAN and two children, including a baby, are fighting for their lives after being rescued from a flat fire yesterday.
Emergency crews went to the blaze at 6am and neighbours said they watched on in horror as a boy was given CPR when he was stretchered out.
A six-month-old girl, a boy of six and a woman in her 20s were in critical condition in hospital last night after the fire in Hanley, Stoke.
A man was treated for ankle injury after jumping from the first floor window.
Staffordshire Police said in a statement: “The fire has been put out and fire investigators are now working with our officers to establish the cause of the fire.
“The fire service has confirmed that all flats have been searched and all occupants are out of the building.
“At this stage six flats have been affected and so we are working with partners and the building owners to ascertain who lives in each flat. Suitable temporary arrangements for housing are also already in progress.”
