SPECULATION has been mounting that the legendary 90s’ girlband The Spice Girls are set to reunite this year for a global tour.
Demand is bound to be huge, so you’ll need to be on the ball if you really, really want tickets. Here’s the latest on whether it’s going to happen.
Are the Spice Girls going on tour?
Following the exciting news the Spice Girls had met up at Geri’s house, it was reported that the girls would embark on a world tour, starting in the UK, in late summer.
The reunion gigs would mark their first performances together since 2012, when they memorably appeared at the closing ceremony of the London Olympics.
They’ve met with manager Simon Fuller and confirmed they’re working on new projects.
And in an exclusive interview with Bizarre’s Dan Wootton, Geri Horner said a tour “will be something joyful and very connective”.
Asked about the prospect, Geri said: “I think it’s one of the things that we look back on from the past and we’ve had so many amazing memories.
“Whatever we decide to do, however it unfolds, it will be something joyful and very connective.”
However, Victoria poured cold water on fans’ hopes of seeing the legendary girl group back on stage by insisting there won’t be a tour.
She told Vogue magazine: “I’m not going on tour. The girls aren’t going on tour.
“It was so great to see the girls. We had such a fun lunch. It was really, really, really lovely.
“I still speak to them all individually, but for us all to get together was really lovely.”
Which UK venues would the Spice Girls play and where would you get tickets?
As nothing has been officially announced, we don’t yet know where the Spice Girls will play.
We’d expect them to perform at big venues, such as the O2 Arena in London and the Manchester Arena.
Alternatively, they could play stadiums such as Wembley, the Etihad in Manchester and Hampden Park in Glasgow.
Ticket details will, of course, be revealed if and when a tour is officially unveiled.
