A biopic for WWE boss Vince McMahon has been in the works for a while now, and it appears that the project might be creeping closer to enlisting an A-list actor in the lead role.
According to Screen Rant, the leadership behind the biopic, which will be titled “Pandemonium,” wants Bradley Cooper to play McMahon. An offer was reportedly made to Cooper’s representatives, though the actor hasn’t officially attached himself to the film just yet.
Cooper is well-known, highly-respected Hollywood talent who has has received Oscar nominations for his work in “American Hustle,” “American Sniper” and “Silver Linings Playbook.” He doesn’t necessarily need the gig, especially considering he’s already committed to several projects at the moment, but there’s no denying that the McMahon story will likely garner quite a lot of attention and intrigue well beyond the world of wrestling.
The WWE CEO has been a prominent figure in professional wrestling for decades and is recognized as one of the most notorious heels in all of sports to this day. He’s not only had an active role in the growth of the wrestling as a sport, but also in the growth of the WWE as a company that’s estimated to be worth over a billion dollars today.
If Cooper does decide to accept the role, he’ll be working under the directorial guidance of John Requa and Glenn Ficarra (“Crazy Stupid Love,” “This Is Us”). He’ll need to get working on practicing the infamous strut as soon as possible.
