The Brisbane Heat secured their third win on the trot with a comprehensive eight-wicket victory over Hobart Hurricanes in their Rebel WBBL match at Blundstone Arena.
Beth Mooney was again all class with the bat, making 62 not out, to take her tally to 229 runs since her most recent dismissal three games ago.
The Heat finished on 2-114 after restricting the home side to 4-111.
It was an improved performance from the Hurricanes, who showed good intent with the bat as they chase their first win for the season, with a form-finding 34 from opener Hayley Matthews and handy knocks from Georgia Redmayne (20) and Lauren Winfield (15).
But a stingy Heat bowling attack gave them little to work with. Jess Jonassen claimed 2-17 off her four overs and would have had even better figures if the returning Veda Krishnamurthy (9 off 5) hadn’t been the only one to get her away.
Delissa Kimmince conceded just 12 runs off her three overs.
Heat won won the toss and elected to bowl first against the Hobart Hurricanes.
Both teams made one change haeding into the match. The Hurricanes brought in Krishnamurthy for Meg Phillips, while the Heat brought Georgia Prestwidge in for Laura Wolvaardt, who has returned to South Africa after coming in as an injury replacement for Grace Harris, who is still sidelined.
