A sequence of events could see Everton making it into Europe?
Oumar Niasse of Everton celebrates scoring
Not many Everton fans would label the current season a success. The Toffees spent plenty of money in the summer to forge a Champions League challenge but failed miserably in the early stages of the season.
The club lost confidence in Ronald Koeman and he was sacked, with a relegation battle potentially looming.
It has been a year to forget for many Evertonians. Yet, it is looking like an increasing possibility that Everton kight manage to stumble their way into Europe next season.

With Arsenal taking on Manchester City in the Capital One Cup final this month it looks likely that sixth place in the Premier League will be on their way to the Europa League next season.
Everton would have to go at a fierce pace to finish in the top six, but seventh place, that looks likely. Burnley are currently in freefall whilst Everton will fancy their chances of bettering Leicester throughout the rest of the season.

It would then only take one of Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United or Tottenham Hotspur to win the FA Cup and Everton are somehow in the Europa League next season.
It may have been a disastrous campaign, but they could end up hitting par.
