Boston United will today attempt to do something they’ve been unable to achieve since 1997.

The Pilgrims travel to National League North promotion-chasers Chorley for an FA Cup fourth qualifying round clash.

Victory would see the club appear in the first round proper as a non-league club for the first time in 20 years, although they qualified for the first round as a Football League Club in 2006.

United boss Adam Murray has been scanning the market this week in the hope of bringing in another striker, with Boston struggling to find the target in recent weeks.

They go into the FA Cup tie on the back of a 2-1 defeat against AFC Telford last Saturday, while home side Chorley have won seven of their last eight fixtures and are sitting in seventh place in the table.
