Fantasy Premier League: Transfer tips, players to sell or avoid for GW23 football

Fantasy Premier League managers are sorting out their transfers for the first time in 12 days this weekend and all have a fairly decent idea of who they should be signing.

But with a lot of their assets doing relatively well recently, working out who to sell can be tricky business.

If you’re looking to do some long-term planning, we’ve got three players who should probably be on their way out of your squads in GW23.

Who should I sell or avoid?

Dominic Calvert-Lewin (£5.5m)

Everton’s next six fixtures: tot/WBA/LEI/ars/CRY/wat

Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s days as the cheap third striker have ended as quickly as they started – much like Tammy Abraham.

The arrival of Cenk Tosun (£7.5m) at Goodison Park has pushed him further down the pecking order at a time when he was being rested for poor performances anyway.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin should be on your list of players to axe

In his last three appearances he has mustered just one effort on goal and hasn’t bagged any returns since GW18.

But the main reason to get him out soon is that signing of Tosun who is expected to slot straight into the team as a belated replacement for Romelu Lukaku.

Potential replacements include Callum Wilson (£5.7m) or Laurent Depoitre (£5.2m) if you can cope with the rotation.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek (£4.6m)

Crystal Palace’s next six fixtures: BUR/ars/whu/NEW/eve/TOT

Ruben Loftus-Cheek is another budget player whose usefulness may well have ended.

The Chelsea loanee has been missing from the last two games with injury and even though he is potentially going to be fit again for GW23 it might be time to pull out of Crystal Palace.

After a home game against Burnley, they have some tricky trips to Arsenal and West Ham before hosting Newcastle, visiting Everton and facing Spurs at Selhurst Park.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek has missed the last few Palace games

That on top of Loftus-Cheek’s fitness problems make him a less attractive option than he was at the beginning of the season.

Even though they are cheap, you need your fifth midfielder to be someone playing regularly in a role within their team which will see them getting involved in goals.

So if you want to stay invested in Palace, then maybe Luka Milivojevic (£4.6m) is the way to go. He’s the same price and is on penalties for the Eagles.

Other alternatives include West Ham’s Pedro Obiang (£4.4m) or Jack Cork (£4.6m).

Jonjoe Kenny (£4.6m)

Everton’s next six fixtures: tot/WBA/LEI/ars/CRY/wat

Jonjoe Kenny is our second Evertonian on the ‘to-sell’ pile this week after he missed out on Manchester United’s 2-0 win at Goodison Park in GW22.

He may have returned for the FA Cup Merseyside derby but with Seamus Coleman now back in training for Everton, his days in the side are numbered.

Jonjoe Kenny may lose his place to Seamus Coleman soon

That an the Toffees tricky run of games over the next few weeks make him less of an appealing asset than before.

Those of you who got in ahead of the curve could maybe bank some profit and switch to DeAndre Yedlin (£4.4m) or Lewis Dunk (£4.5m) at Brighton.
