FC Barcelona have reportedly agreed terms for one of their transfer targets, and the only question remaining is when the player will sign.
The Blaugrana are still unbeaten in the 2017/18 La Liga campaign, but are understood to be keen to improve their squad in the January transfer window.
Amid rumours Javier Mascherano could leave the club for a lucrative offer in China and Samuel Umtiti’s injury, Barcelona’s bosses are reportedly weighing up their defensive options.
They want to have four centre backs in the squad, and as consequence, are once again looking at Yerry Mina.
Barcelona have already negotiated a deal for the 23-year-old Palmeiras defender, but the initial plan was to sign him only after the current campaign, as his agent confirmed.
“Barcelona have officially confirmed to Palmeiras that the purchase option is maintained until July 2018,” Jair Mina, uncle and agent of the defender, told Cope, as quoted by Marca.
“In order to sign him in January, Barcelona should sit down with Palmeiras and tell him they want to use the option.”
Other reports suggest the Catalan giants have negotiated a January deal worth €9 million (R143 million), but according to Marca, Barcelona are not yet certain if a January would be the right time to move for the Colombian.
Whether in January or at the end of the season, it seems Mina will definitely become a Barcelona player.
