Hidden Valley Country Club is pleased to announce the hiring of Patrick O’Keefe as the new Director of Tennis. O’Keefe returns to Salem after a two and a half year stint with Smith Stearns Tennis Academy in Hilton Head Island, SC where he trained high-performance juniors. At Hidden Valley, O’Keefe will work with junior and adult players of all levels. The club looks forward to his enthusiasm to infuse more energy in to our seasoned program.

“It’s an exciting time to be a member at HVCC,” said Cheryl Facciani, Hidden Valley Country Club member since 2004. “Patrick exemplifies all the coaching, leadership, and grit that we want to bring to our tennis program which will benefit our Elite Junior players, Quick Start Juniors, and our beginner and competitive adult players. With him, in addition, to our other excellent coaches at HVCC we will have an unparalleled program here in the Roanoke Valley. It really doesn’t get any better than this!”

“I couldn’t be more pleased to have Patrick join us to head up our tennis programming,” added Jim Lawrence, General Manager of HVCC. “Tennis at Hidden Valley Country Club is extremely family focused so Patrick is an ideal fit. He grew up here, literally! He is the son of Chris O’Keefe, an outstanding and highly-regarded instructor in the valley, who served as Hidden Valley’s Tennis Director for many years and remains on our staff. Patrick will be warmly received by our tennis family when he returns to our courts in January.”

A 2015 graduate of Radford University, O’Keefe’s extensive list of accomplishments and accolades include being named 2015 Big South Players of the Year; Big South All-Conference Singles and Big South Flight Champion in 2014 and 2015; as well as a 21-2 home record, going unbeaten his sophomore, junior and senior season.

O’Keefe attended Salem High School where he was a four-time VHSL State Player of the Year and four-time Virginia State Singles Champion.
