Elishpour is a hopeful nap choice to defy top-weight in the two-mile Marshes Shopping Centre Handicap in Dundalk tonight.
The Alan Fleming-trained eight-year-old boasts an impressive record on the polytrack – two wins and a second from three starts.
And he might be capable of completing his hat-trick tonight, although 2lb. worse off with Political Policy, which he beat by a head when they clashed over this course and distance last month.
Prior to his most recent success, Elishpour had prevailed over a mile and a half in November, when beating Saga Bolton.
With Billy Lee on board, Elishpour might confirm form with Political Policy and keep Gorodn Elliott’s Tagietelle at bay.
Elsewhere on a tough card, the Tracy Collins-trained Captain Joy, without a win since landing the All-Weather Mile Championship at Lingfield in March 2016, might have the edge in the Sun Bets Race, a qualifier for the All-Weather Championships.
The grey was last seen when sixth, after a break, behind Katiymann in a mile handicap here last month. And, with that run under his belt, he’s expected to turn the table n the Ger Lyons runner Glastonbury Song, which finished second in that handicap won by Katiymann.
