Harry Kane has become the first Tottenham player to score 100 Premier League goals with his strike against Liverpool on Sunday seeing him join an illustrious group of strikers.
The England forward becomes the second fastest player in Premier League history to reach the milestone behind Alan Shearer.
Kane needed just 141 league appearances to hit the century mark, while former Blackburn and Newcastle striker Shearer achieved the feat after just 124 appearances. Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero reached his three-figures mark after 147 appearances.
When Kane is at his explosive best
It’s proving an altogether frightening task for Premier League defenders up and down the country to contain Kane, who in 2017 broke Shearer’s record for most league goals scored in a calendar year with 39.
If rival teams are confident of stifling Kane and stopping his goal glut, then they should be alert and on their guard at the start of every second half.
