UMUAHIA—GOVERNOR Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State has urged the members of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state to remain steadfast and make the party stronger as they approach 2019 elections.
Governor Ikpeazu, who spoke on the sidelines of a PDP stakeholders’ meeting in Umuahia, the state capital, assured that there will be no imposition of candidates in the party’s primaries, which has always been the root of crisis in the party, stating that the most popular candidates will emerge.
Ikpeazu assured them that internal democracy will be practised in the state and urged those contemplating to leave the party to have a rethink.
The governor also flagged off the construction of the Ohafia Ring-Road, describing it as economically strategic to Ohafia and the state.
