- Barcelona and Real Madrid looking to add to attack with Timo Werner
- Madrid are still looking for a replacement following Alvaro Morata sale
- Barca have monitored Werner for a while and have scouted striker this term
Having signed from Stuttgart for just £8million last season, the Germany international enjoyed a stunning breakout campaign after netting 21 league goals in 31 games.
Now the La Liga giants are tracking Germany’s in-form striker who has already struck six goals from nine games already this season across all competitions.

According to Spanish daily Mundo, both clubs see Werner as a valuable addition to boost their respective strike forces that require additions following the transfer window.
Barca sporting director Robert Fernandez has been tracking the 21-year-old for a long while and has been scouting the striker this term.
Madrid are yet to replace Alvaro Morata following his £70m departure to Chelsea, while Barca are less than convinced with Paco Alcacer who has disappointed since joining from Valencia last summer.

Werner is even more of an attraction for both clubs given that the Germany international does not have an off-putting mammoth release clause in his contract.
Although the 21-year-old has confirmed he is happy at Leipzig, where he holds a contract until 2020, the striker has admitted he would like to realise an ambition to join a bigger club.
Werner had been a target for Liverpool this summer, who have already signed the German’s team-mate Naby Keita, and has made a promising start to his international career.
The Leipzig star already has six goals from eight internationals including three at the Confederations Cup played in Russia this summer which made him top scorer.
