Toss – New Zealand vs Windies

The hosts have won the toss and elected to field. They have began their world cup campaign at Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui. For small mercies, the weather seems good there and there shouldn’t be any interruptions.

New Zealand U19 (Playing XI): Jakob Bhula, Rachin Ravindra, Finn Allen, Kaylum Boshier(c), Katene Clarke, Dale Phillips, Todd Watson, Max Chu(w), Felix Murray, Connor Sullivan, Matthew Fisher

Windies U19 (Playing XI): Kimani Melius, Keagan Simmons, Emmanuel Stewart(w/c), Bhaskar Yadram, Kirstan Kallicharan, Alick Athanaze, Cephas Cooper, Jeavor Royal, Nyeem Young, Ronaldo Alimohamed, Ashmead Nedd

Meanwhile, there are no signs of the weather improving elsewhere. Marred by train, the two other games are expected to be washed out. Quite a disappointing start to the world cup!

Pakistan vs Afghanistan – Bowled out!

Azmatullah and Qasi Ahmed have bagged three wickets each to bowl out Pakistan for 188. Pakistan had a disappointing performance with the bat after winning the toss. Barring the 88-run stand for the third wicket there was nothing noteworthy in their innings.

Pakistan vs Afghanistan – Fine act

This has been a superb effort from Rohail Nazir. He has played virtually a solo hand in his innings. Pakistan have suffered a collapse of sorts after the third wicket stand between Nazir and Ali Zaryab came to an end. Nazir would be disappointed for missing out on a ton today.

Rain still continues pouring

Pakistan vs Afghanistan – Early strike

Naveen-ul-Haq has put Pakistan in all sorts of trouble. After dismissing Muhammad Zaid in the first over, he strikes with the wicket of Ammad Alam. Two early wickets down for Pakistan.

Pakistan vs Afghanistan: Pakistan have won the toss and elected to bat.

Meanwhile, the toss has delayed in the other games – Zimbabwe vs PNG and Bangladesh vs Namibia – due to rain.
