An international dating expert, who claims to have helped millions of women across the world, has opened up on his secrets to finding love.
British-born, Matthew Hussey, 30, is not only an acclaimed life coach and best-selling author of a book called How To Get The Guy, he’s also so in demand that some clients are willing to pay $14,000 for his coaching services.
Though the Los Angeles-based social media sensation is a hit among celebrities – he counts Eva Longoria, Christina Aguilera and Tyra Banks as fans – he’s a firm believer in sharing his knowledge with as many as possible.
During a recent visit to Sydney, the rather dashing ‘love guru’ hosted seminar for the price of just $21.19, and over the course of three hours revealed his best advice.

Here, FEMAIL takes a looks at Matthew Hussey’s approach to finding love, and shares some of his simple, yet effective, top dating tips.
IT’S NOT ALL ABOUT FINDING A MAN
Mr Hussey, who has 1.5 million followers across his social media platforms, is the man women turn too for navigating the fraught world of dating.
But while his training videos on YouTube offer coaching and support, Mr Hussey believes firstly and foremost, women need to feel good about themselves, irrespective of who they have in their life, the Daily Telegraph reports.
‘Being in a relationship doesn’t mean you’re successful. You are successful if you are happy,’ Mr Hussey said.

MAKE DATING FUN AGAIN
Though dating is easier than it’s ever been – we’re able to connect now in myriad ways – too much can lead to a pervasive fatigue, kind of ‘dating burnout’, the expert said.
‘We’ve begin to associate it with negative feelings. If I can do one thing, it’s actually make it fun again.’
His recommendation: Embrace the idea dating offers options, because if women don’t believe they have options, he said sagely, they can be prone to making bad choices.

IT’S ALL ABOUT CONFIDENCE
While confidence is as much about radiating a sense of well-being, it’s also about having the courage to speak to someone, or initiate contact, despite feeling shy or nervous.
The dating coach encourages women to take the lead, not in an aggressive way, more to let others know they’re open to a conversation.
He said his mantra was it’s always better to do something, rather than nothing.
Speaking previously, Mr Hussey said: ‘Just because you are looking for something serious it doesn’t mean you will get there by being serious about it. Ultimately it is about confidence.’
‘Harder to get doesn’t work, I always say being high value works. It is about showing yourself as a confident person that someone wants to know.’
IT PAYS TO BE A LITTLE HIGH MAINTENANCE
‘This is a time when it pays to be a little higher maintenance,’ the expert said
While technology makes it easier to chat, and text, Mr Hussey believes a woman shouldn’t even consider dating someone unless they’ve spoken on the phone.
He outlined that many men in their 30s and 40s are happy to agree to a meeting, yet few have the courage to speak to a woman on the phone first.
It’s an idea that ties in with his belief that confidence is built on self-value, explaining that women who view themselves in high regard are less likely to spend years with a person who undervalues them.
‘This is a time when it pays to be a little higher maintenance. I’m not going to spend an evening with you if you’re not going to pick up the phone,’ he concluded.
