They once competed against one another for Georgia Love’s affection on The Bachelorette Australia.

These daysMatty ‘J’ Johnson and Cameron Cranley are firm friends.

And with Matty reportedly set to hand over The Bachelor torch to Cam this year, the hunky marketing manager told OK! Magazine this week he’d be happy to give some tips to his firefighter friend.

‘He would be an amazing Bachelor!’ Matty gushed about his mate to the magazine.

‘I can’t believe he’s still single. I’d be more than willing to give him a few pointers and tips before he goes into filming.’

While Cam himself has not directly confirmed he will be handing out roses in the next season of the popular dating show, Matty seemed all but convinced it would happen.

‘He denied it to us but we know if he was going to be the Bachelor, he would have to deny it,’ Matty said, explaining that he and a few other ex-Bachelorette boys quizzed him in a group chat.

Last week New Idea reported that fan-favourite Cam would be getting a second shot at love as the new Bachelor.

The magazine also added that in an extraordinary twist, he will reportedly be joined in his journey by brother Kyle Cranley.

While it is unclear how a ‘double Bachelor’ series would work, a source told the magazine it will make for unmissable TV.

‘The two brothers are practically inseparable anyway. They have a great friendship, are always socialising together, making fun of each other and it will work well on television,’ said the insider.

The rumoured signing was the ‘talk of the Portsea Polo event in Melbourne’ earlier this month, it was claimed.

It follows Cameron’s notable absence from the Bachelor In Paradise line-up.

‘That kind of confirmed he was in the running,’ added the source. ‘Cam is so popular and still single so it would be an obvious choice to have him on Paradise.’
