Andrea Dovizioso closed the gap on Marc Marquez at the top of the MotoGP points table after a dramatic victory in Japan.

Ducati rider Dovizioso is enjoying his strongest season in the premier category, with the Italian having won four races already this term.

Marquez led into the final lap, but a shaky Turn 8 allowed Dovizioso to draw closer and overtake to seal victory in Turn 11.

Former champions and Jorge Lorenzo remain well off the pace in the points standings, while Brit Cal Crutchlow sits just inside the top 10.
