Suspected militia sack 3 Fulani villages in Taraba

Many people were feared killed in early morning attacks carried by suspected   militia in three Fulani villages in Lau Local Government Area of Taraba State.

The attacks, Daily Trust on Sunday gathered was launched at about 6am.

The villages attacked are Babagasa, Donada and Katibu which shared common boundary with Adamawa State.

A resident of Katibu, Mallam Bello Isa, told our reporter that many people in his village were killed and houses set ablaze.

He explained that bodies of three persons were recovered and buried at about 10am. They are  Nuhu Isiyaka, 5, Nasuru Mohammed, 6, and Mallam Muhammed Bello, 66. 

He said many people, including women and children were still missing, adding that security agents were yet to be dispatch to the area.

A resident of Donada , Malam Kallamu who escaped with gun wounds said the militia  who were well armed stormed the villages on motorcycles and started shooting and setting houses ablaze while others looted their property.

The Police Public Relations Officer Taraba State Police Command, ASP David Misal, confirmed the attacks adding that four people were killed.

He said those that carried out the attacks were yet to be identified and no arrest was made.
