IN an open match, the Wallabies have landed an almighty blow on the stroke of half time with the Australian captain Michael Hooper scoring a vital try to extend the lead in Cardiff.
The Wallabies score three first half tries to lead Wales 23-12 at the main break.
Welsh fullback Leigh Halfpenny put the home side on the board first, slotting over a penalty.
But the lead didn’t last long, as hooker Tatafu Polota-Nau scored off the back of a maul.
Steff Evans then finished off a try and Halfpenny converted from the sideline to put Wales back in front.
But a try to lock Adam Coleman and a long-range sideline effort from Reece Hodge gave the Wallabies a buffer.
Halfpenny cut the margin with his second penalty late in the second half.
But for the second time in the match Wales couldn’t clear their line from the kick restart and after another patient build up the Wallabies scored via their captain to take all the momentum in the break.
