Real Madrid re-joins the race against Barcelona for this superstar

In a shocking report published by the Don Balon, La Liga champions Barcelona are keen on bringing in Antonio Conte to the Camp Nou this summer to replace Ernesto Valverde.

Chelsea has not had a very fruitful campaign this season in the Premier League as they sit fifth on the table struggling to get into the Champions League, the Blues were also dumped out of the Champions League in the Round Of 16 against Barcelona. The only hope of salvaging any glory this term would be in the FA Cup as Chelsea have booked their spot in the final and will face Manchester United next month. But all that pressure has mounted on manager Antonio Conte and his job is now on the line.

Conte

The Italian boss has been long linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge due to the lack of effort from his players and issues with the transfer board at the club. Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint Germain, as well as Serie A club Inter Milan, are some of the few clubs interested in poaching Conte from Chelsea.

Inside News-

Chelsea clinched the Premier League title last term with Conte’s debut season in England and Barcelona are aware of the abilities the 48-year-old manager possesses. And with current Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde surrendering a massive lead against AS Roma in the Champions League, the Catalonian fans were shocked and furious with the Spaniard.

However, Valverde did redeem himself by winning his first title since his time at the Camp Nou, the Copa Del Rey comprehensively against Sevilla during the weekend and is on course to win the Spanish league as well. But should the 57-year-old Barcelona boss be given the sack, Antonio Conte is the first contender to replace Valverde.

Author’s Take-

I think that Valverde would remain as Barcelona coach next summer because he has assured the Catalonian club two titles this season. Other than the shock result against AS Roma in the Champions League, I don’t think they have had a horrendous season. I doubt Barcelona would want to think of keeping an Italian as their manager because they are a very culture oriented club.
