The EFL have confirmed the dates for this season’s League Two play-offs.

Any team from leaders Lincoln City down to Cheltenham Town in 16th could, mathematically, still be involved.

However, in all likelihood the contenders for the post-season battles will make a much smaller cast list.

Bury and Mansfield Town might be in 2nd and 3rd respectively, but they will be looking over their shoulders at MK Dons and Tranmere Rovers, who are only a win behind with four games to go.

Forest Green Rovers, in 6th, have a six-point buffer over 8th placed Carlisle United.

Exeter City need to pick up points to stave off the chasing pack and hold onto the final play-off spot. The likes of Colchester United, Swindon Town, Stevenage and Newport County are pinning their outside chances of making the play-offs on a late surge.

The League Two play-off dates

Thursday, May 9 –  League Two A first leg (7.45pm)

Friday, May 10 – League Two B first leg (7.45pm)

Sunday, May 12 –  League Two A second leg (6pm)

Monday, May 13  – League Two B second leg (7.45pm)

Saturday, May 25 –  League Two play-off final at Wembley (3pm)
