Entertainer Barry Chuckle has died at the age of 73 – latest tributes


Veteran entertainer Barry Chuckle has died at the age of 73.

Barry was part of the famous comedy duo The Chuckle Brothers along with his brother Paul.

His manager Phil Dale said in a statement to the Press Association: “It is with great sadness that the family announce that Barry passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his wife Ann and all his family.”

He added: “The family would like to express their thanks to the many people who have been fans of the Chuckle Brothers and they know that they will share in part the great, great loss they feel.”

His comedy partner Paul said: “I’ve not just lost my brother, I’ve lost my theatrical partner of many, many years and my very best friend.”

Barry, real nam Barry Elliott, was born in Rotherham in Yorkshire in 1944.

The popular TV show Chuckle Vision, which starred Barry and Paul, was broadcast from 1987 until 2009. It is known for the catchphrase “To me… To you” and “Oh dear, oh dear”.
