SCARLETT Moffatt has admitted quitting I’m a Celebrity: Extra Camp because it “ruined her Christmas”.
The ex Gogglebox star, 29, announced she was stepping down from the show after three years back in July.
And the telly favourite has finally revealed the real reason she turned her back on the jungle – it robbed her of Christmas spirit.
She told new magazine: “It was a conscious decision because I’ve been in Australia for the past three years and you only get back home a couple of days before Christmas.
“Also, because I’ve just been to Namibia for six weeks filming a new show with my family called The British Tribe Next Door, I just really wanted to be at home this year.”
Scarlett announced she was quitting the show earlier this year alongside co-host Joe Swash.
The reality TV star posted a photo of herself, Joe, and their co-host Joel Dommett posing in Extra Camp T-Shirts and wrote: “After chatting to one of my besties @realjoeswashy and seeing his Insta post I thought I would do mine too.
“For three years I have enjoyed a jungle life, being crowned queen of the jungle, and having the greatest time presenting Extra Camp with Swashy and Joel, who I now class as best friends.
“The jungle absolutely changed my life and I am massively grateful to everybody who voted for me whilst in the jungle and for your constant support to date and everybody who tuned in to Extra Camp.
“Massive thank you to all the team including Richard, Angela, Toni, pecks and of course @antanddec and @hollywilloughby @joeldommett and @realjoeswashy but I have got a project that I’ve been working on (alongside my family) that I am very very excited to announce soon.”
In August, The Sun Online exclusively revealed that former contestants Adam Thomas and Emily Atack have been signed as Scarlett and Joe’s replacements.
They will join Adam’s 2016 I’m A Celeb co-star Joel Dommett – who formed a friendship on the show.
A source said: “Adam showed how brilliant he was on camera during his time on the show and has plenty of TV experience from his years as an actor.
“He also knows the jungle inside out – and is sure to have great banter with Joel and Emily.
“Adam couldn’t believe his luck as he found out and can’t wait to start.”
The Sun revealed football pundit Ian Wright as the first star in talks to take part in the show.
An ITV spokesman said: “We will be announcing our Extra Camp presenters in due course.”
