Girona boss Pablo Machin has discussed the three offside calls that halted his side from getting back into their game against Real Betis.
Young striker Loren Moron opened the scoring for Betis after some superb work from veteran winger Joaquin and the home side failed to peg back Quique Setien’s side.
Uruguayan striker Cristhian Stuani has been in remarkable form this season, netting 17 goals for the Catalan club and on a different day – he could of had three more.
Stuani – on loan from English side Middlesbrough, found the net three times but on each occasion, saw his effort ruled out for offside.
Machin, who has been the architect of some superb performances from Girona this season, chose to discuss the incidents but said he will not spend time dwelling on them.
“It is true, I have never seen three goals ruled out for offside but I will not comment and be controversial, ” he told reporters.
“In the second half, we did all we could to win and we deserved it.
“Our aim now is to thing about the next game, and no one can criticise us for that.”
With the result, Girona find themselves unlikely to reach a European place but do find themselves sitting comfortably in the top half of the league table.
The Montilivi outfit were many favourites to be relegated this season, but some superb performances – which include, beating Real Madrid, have kept them in La Liga.
Machin’s men travel to face Alaves on Thursday evening as we have a full round of midweek league games in La Liga.
