MORE: Strong to severe storms expected Sunday

Sunday’s storms brought rain and heavy winds throughout the state, with at least one apparent tornado touching down near Chappel Mill in Butts County. Trees and power lines were brought down in a number of areas, including Gwinnett County, where a Tornado Warning was issued early Sunday afternoon.

While no injuries were immediately reported in Georgia as a result of the stormy weather, the death toll from the storm system across the south reached six, including two people who died in flooding Saturday in Louisiana. Two others were killed in Texas, one in Mississippi and one in Alabama.
