BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WSYR-TV & 18 NEWS) – UPDATE (7:30 A.M.) An “Active Alert” was issued overnight for a reported stabbing on Binghamton University’s campus, according to the college’s website. The university updated the alert at about 6:45 a.m. to report the victim had died from his injuries.
Binghamton University’s official Facebook page: “We are sad to report that a student has died due to a stabbing on campus that occurred at about 10:30 p.m. Sunday, April 15. The deceased is a male, age 19, in his first year at Binghamton University. Further information about the deceased will be provided after his family has been notified. We are in the process of contacting them.”
The first alert said the stabbing occurred in Windham Hall and that the suspect ran away from the area.
Since the first alert, reports of a suspect have been issued. The suspect, described as a light-skinned male wearing dark pants and a dark, Puma hooded sweatshirt, remains at large.

Investigators from multiple agencies have been interviewing numerous people throughout the night. They have reported that this does not appear to be a random act.
