TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – Keep the umbrellas with you this week, the rain chances are enhanced by an area of low pressure in the Gulf of Mexico.
“The low has a small chance to develop into something tropical or subtropical during the next few days, but our impacts from the system will be the same either way,” explained Storm Team 8 Meteorologist Leigh Spann.
Today’s rain chance is 70%, and rounds of downpours are expected through the day. The extra clouds and rain keep highs in the low 80s. With the low still near the west coast of Florida tomorrow, the rain chance remains elevated at 50%.
“Even as the low heads to the northwest later this week, it will continue to draw up tropical moisture, so higher rain chances continue,” said Spann.
Highs will be in the mid 80s along with scattered afternoon showers.
