An all-female sporting event will take place in Albany, New York in August.
And the Aurora Games, a six-day event just before the US Open, will welcome two-time Grand Slam champion Garbiñe Muguruza and rising star Bianca Andreesco.
Impresario Jerry Solomon wanted to create a showcase for the “best in women’s sports, entertainment and culture.”
The athletes will be paid. There also will be prize money.
Tennis legends Chris Evert and Monica Seles are on the advisory board of the event, planned as a biennial.
