Olivier Giroud – January 1 – ARSENAL v Palace

The Frenchman scored with an audacious flick with the ball behind him, leaving the goalkeeper helpless.

Andy Carroll – January 14 – WEST HAM v Palace

An overhead kick out of the top drawer, one the striker obviously enjoyed, judging by the celebration.

Eden Hazard – February 4 – CHELSEA V Arsenal

It was a fine individual goal from the Belgian as he ran through the Arsenal defence before beating Petr Cech.

Xherdan Shaqiri – April 15 – STOKE v Hull

A 30-yard screamer which was surprisingly his first goal in almost six months, but it was worth the wait.

Emre Can – May 1 – Watford v LIVERPOOL

Few could have predicted that when the ball was sent into the midfielder’s direction that he would perfect an overhead kick.

Charlie Daniels – August 26 – BOURNEMOUTH v Man City

A truly ferocious strike from the full-back who struck the ball perfectly from the left-hand side of the area, leaving Ederson too little time to react.

Antonio Valencia – September 17 – MAN UNITED v Everton

The ball flew like an arrow from the Ecuadorian’s boot into the top corner from 20 yards out.

Sofiane Boufal – October 21 – SOUTHAMPTON v West Brom

In what was a forgettable game, the Southampton midfielder dribbled from his own half before slotting home.

Wayne Rooney – November 29 – EVERTON v West Ham

The former England captain did not need to think twice when the ball was rolling to him on the halfway line as he sent the ball into the net.

Jermain Defoe – December 9 – Crystal Palace v BOURNEMOUTH

A Van Basten-esque effort as he volleyed a bouncing ball over the ‘keeper.
